Saptarshi Neil Sinha

Saptarshi Neil Sinha is a Research Associate at the Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics Research (IGD) in Darmstadt, Germany. He earned his bachelor's degree in computer science from Kolkata, India, and a master's degree from the University of Saarland, Germany in 2016, where he completed his thesis in the field of computer graphics in collaboration with DFKI (Saarland) and the Max Planck Institute for Computer Science. 

After that he contributed to the development of software applications across various industrial sectors, including the content and creative industries. In the Visual Computing System Technologies department at Fraunhofer IGD, he contributed to 3D streaming and real-time web rendering for the Instant3DHub project, collaborating closely with the automotive industry. Since 2021, he has been part of the Virtual and Augmented Reality department at Fraunhofer IGD, focusing on projects related to the automotive industry, cultural heritage, and bioeconomy 

He completed his PhD at TU Darmstadt in 2025, focusing on inverse rendering with an emphasis on learning-based approaches for scene digitization, editing, and analysis. His research interests include scene digitization and editing, synthetic data generation, and real-time rendering, with a focus on optimizing spatial data structures for large 3D model streaming.
