Fishing Trash out of the Warnow with VR
At the citizens’ festival on the Day of German Unity, we explain the potential of virtual reality (VR) to the public in a playful way.
While major projects such as The Ocean Cleanup are doing their best in the world’s oceans, we want to raise awareness at our stand that every individual can also make a difference on their own river. In our virtual reality game, the Warnow has to be cleared of plastic waste – aboard a small fishing boat and armed only with a quiver, this turns out to be quite a wobbly affair.
Although the game will not actually make German rivers any cleaner, our virtual reality solutions are primarily intended for training scenarios. Whether in paramedic training or engineering education, VR offers the opportunity to recreate scenarios on a global scale. And one day perhaps even on an interplanetary scale – we have already virtually reconstructed the ISS space station for aspiring astronauts.
Feel free to visit our stand on the Mecklenburg–Western Pomerania Ländermeile and celebrate the Day of German Unity with us in Kiel, the capital of Schleswig-Holstein and this year’s host city for the celebrations.
