The State of Hesse’s Digitalization Strategies 2020+

Digitalization is continuously permeating all areas of social and economic life. The German Informatics Society (Gesellschaft für Informatik) is the largest and most important professional association for computer science in the German-speaking world, and with its expertise it contributes to successfully shaping this transition into the digital world. In numerous specialist groups, computer scientists develop recommendations for action in education, the world of work, artificial intelligence, data protection, and security in order to shape the digital future in a responsible, sustainable, and transparent way.

We are therefore especially pleased to engage in dialogue with the State Minister for Digital Strategy and Development, Prof. Dr. Kristina Sinemus. In her lecture, she will present the digitalization strategies of the State of Hesse, which views ongoing digitalization as both a shaping task and an opportunity for citizens and businesses. Prof. Dr. Dieter W. Fellner, Director of Fraunhofer IGD and Professor of Computer Science at TU Darmstadt, will welcome the Digital Minister. He will also provide insights into the close cooperation between the German Informatics Society and Fraunhofer, which was also reflected in the ceremonial event marking the 50th anniversary of the German Informatics Society. This will be followed by an engaging discussion enriched by your questions and contributions.
