Darmstadt Conference
For two years now, the City of Science Darmstadt has also carried the title of Digital City – time for a brief interim assessment! What has happened in politics and research since then, and are the changes reaching citizens in their everyday lives? The Digital City of Darmstadt is therefore inviting all stakeholders to come together on June 12 and 13. At the Darmstadtium, project partners will present themselves and discuss current challenges. Tickets are required for the daytime program, but the citizens’ evening is free of charge: from 6:00 p.m. onwards, the doors will open to everyone interested in digital transformation.
As part of the event, Fraunhofer IGD will present its ideas for the city of tomorrow at the stand of the national research center for applied cybersecurity, CRISP. With the Smart City Experience, visitors will receive a clear and accessible overview of our many research projects for our Digital City and for all other cities that aim to become a little smarter.
The citizens’ evening begins on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. and includes a panel discussion with Sascha Lobo, Digital Minister Prof. Dr. Kristina Sinemus, Darmstadt’s Lord Mayor Jochen Partsch, and Prof. Dr. Waidner, CDO of the City of Darmstadt and Director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Secure Information Technology (SIT). This will be followed by time for networking accompanied by live music.
