Jugend forscht South Hessen 2020 – Winners
For the young scientists, the morning hours of this year’s competition were probably the most exciting: right after setting up their exhibits, they had to convince the jury with their self-developed projects. Once again, there was much to learn for the experts – not only about subjects such as biology, computer science, and materials science, but also about creativity and the courage to try something new.
While the jury deliberated afterwards, the students were able to gain an impression of the Fraunhofer Institutes IGD, LBF, and SIT. The groups and teachers clearly enjoyed the guided tours, and even our experienced researchers were challenged with tricky questions.
Re-energized after the lunch break, everyone returned to the exhibits for the final test: presenting the projects to the public. Now it was our staff’s turn to ask difficult questions – and to receive consistently competent answers. In the afternoon, the event moved seamlessly into its most exciting phase: the award ceremony.
