Computer Graphics Night 2018
On December 6, 2018, the annual Computer Graphics Evening once again took place as one of the highlights in Fraunhofer IGD’s event calendar.
At the beginning of the event, the doctoral theses completed over the course of the year were honored—an outstanding achievement with a total of 13 PhDs. This was followed by awards for the most significant scientific publications and theses of 2018, as well as recognition of the three most promising industrial projects. The award winners in the categories “Best Thesis,” “Impact on Society / Science / Business,” and “Best Industrial Project” largely accepted their awards in person on St. Nicholas’ Day. Numerous guests and partners from research, industry, and politics accepted IGD’s invitation and took the opportunity to learn about and discuss the latest trends in applied visual computing. At various stations, staff members presented current research projects at demo booths.
