The Hessian state government has convened a new, politically independent “Hessian Economic Future Council,” which will develop recommendations for government action in the next legislative period. We are very pleased that our Institute Director, Prof. Dr. Dieter W. Fellner, will be part of this forward-looking initiative. The Future Council met for the first time on March 17, 2023, as part of the Hessian Economic Summit. The initiative focuses on digitalization, decarbonization, the future of work, and the strategic positioning of the State of Hesse as a business location at the national and international level.

The Hessian Economic Future Council plans to initially present its policy recommendations to the public in an interim report to the Hessian state government, expected in mid-August 2023. The submission of the first final report of the “Hessian Economic Future Council” is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2023.

The “Hessian Economic Future Council” includes representatives from companies, trade unions, universities, and research institutions. The Council is co-chaired by Dr. Marie-Luise Wolff, Chair of the Executive Board of Entega AG in Darmstadt, and Prof. Volker Wieland, PhD, Managing Director of the Institute for Monetary and Financial Stability (IMFS) at Goethe University Frankfurt.
