    Lectures on topics in applied quantum computing

    The Center of Applied Quantum Computing (ZAQC) offers a lecture series on selected topics in applied quantum computing in June and July. The three lectures will cover the topics "Tensor trains and their applications" (Thursday, June 18, 2026), "Quantum-inspired optimization" (Thursday, June 25, 2026) and "A primer on quantum error mitigation" (Thursday, July 2, 2026). The lectures will take place online in Teams, each at 5:00 PM. Please register for the event using the registration link.

    Shaping the Future with AI: Legally Compliant AI Applications and Business Models

    As a continuation of the workshop “Shaping the Future with AI – From Idea to Business Model,” the focus will be on deepening the understanding of legal, security-related, and ethical aspects of AI. Using the AI Act, the GDPR, and other regulatory frameworks as examples, participants will learn how AI applications and business models can be designed in compliance with legal requirements from the initial idea to market launch, operated in accordance with data protection regulations, and supported by effective governance and risk management.

    Darmstadt Biometrics Week 2026

    Fraunhofer IGD will also be involved as a co-organizer of the Darmstadt Biometrics Week in 2026. From September 14 to 17, the events will provide leading experts from academia, industry, and government with the opportunity to exchange ideas and discuss the latest advances and innovations in biometrics through specialist conferences and discussion rounds.     Darmstadt Biometrics Research Week 2026

    Following the first part of the Darmstadt Biometrics Week in September, the Darmstadt Biometrics Week – Research will take place from November 24 to 26, 2026, marking the first dedicated scientific event series hosted at Fraunhofer IGD. The event offers leading experts from academia, industry, and government agencies the opportunity to exchange ideas on current research findings, innovative technologies, and future developments in the field of biometrics. A key highlight is the 25th International Conference of the Biometrics Special Interest Group (BIOSIG 2026), which brings together international researchers and professionals to discuss the latest scientific advances and applications in biometric technologies. Further information about the program on November 24 will be announced soon.
