Lars Nonnemann studied Computer Science at the University of Rostock and earned his Master of Science in Visual Computing in 2018. In the same year, he began working as a research associate at the Visual Computing Research and Innovation Center (VCRIC), a joint facility of the Fraunhofer Society and the University of Rostock. As part of the DFG project UnIVA, Mr. Nonnemann developed new ideas for the coordination and coupling of heterogeneous visualization tools in complex analytical process chains, which led to his doctoral thesis.
After successfully completing the project, Mr. Nonnemann transitioned fully to Fraunhofer IGD Rostock in October 2022, joining the "Visual Assistance Technologies" department, where he focused primarily on the creation of 3D learning environments for VR training scenarios. Since its founding in June 2024, Mr. Nonnemann has served as the deputy head of the "Interactive Visualization" working group in the "Visual Computing" department. In June 2025, Mr. Nonnemann successfully defended his dissertation on the topic "A Multifaceted Model for the Layered Orchestration of Independent Visual Analysis Tools" at the University of Rostock.
