ROSTOCK OCEAN CONVENTION 2023

On Tuesday, November 14, keynote speeches and panel discussions will highlight questions about the political framework for forward-looking research and its economic implementation - both nationally and internationally. Among others, Stefan Thimm, new Managing Director of the Federal Association of Wind Farm Operators Offshore (BWO), and Rüdiger Strempel, Executive Secretary of the Baltic Marine Environment Protection Commission (Helsinki Commission - HELCOM), will be expected at the speaker's desk and on the opening panel. Under the title "International Innovation for Blue Growth", Jose Joaquin Hernandez Brito, CEO of the Oceanic Platform of the Canary Islands (PLOCAN), and Melanie Nadeau, CEO of the Canadian Centre for Ocean Ventures & Entrepreneurship (COVE), among others, will provide exciting insights into the world of underwater technology and the opportunities for international networking.

On Wednesday, November 15, participants can take an in-depth look at various fields of application. Two parallel sessions will provide them with individualized input on the progress in technologies and offer new ideas for their own business.

Topics:

  • Progress in Digital Twins
  • Detection and Handling of Maritime UXO
  • Ocean & Space
  • Efficient Testing of OceanTec
  • Underwater Robotics
  • Effective Maritime Monitoring

After short starting impulses from representatives of the industry as well as actors from research, there will be time for discussion and exchange in the workshop formats.

The ROSTOCK OCEAN CONVENTION is an attractive networking platform with a bunch of communication facilities with up to 200 participants, speakers and partners. An accompanying exhibition will showcase current products and developments in marine technologies. New this year is the opportunity for scientists to present their research with a poster. A guided poster tour will give visitors an overview of the current state of research in marine technology. A B2B matchmaking tool will help participants to get in touch in pre-arranged personal meetings.
