From September 10-15, manufacturing technolgy experts meet at the IMTS 2018 in Chicago to catch up on the latest trends and technologies in industrial manufacturing. One of the largest fairs of its kind, more than 2000 exhibitors will present their solutions to the complex requirements of the manufacturing process, which are undergoing rapid change because of Industrie 4.0 and require rapid adaptation. Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics Research IGD presents its technologies that minimizes complex learning and assembly processes through mixed reality.
AR and VR for maintenance, assembly, and engineering
Technical systems such as vehicles and machines are becoming ever more complex and individual. Previous approaches to instruction in repair processes are often no longer sufficient. The industry is looking for new solutions. Our mixed reality approaches make it possible to optimally network 3D design data with maintenance systems and processes to substantially minimize or even enable the effort required to create and execute the instructions.
The instant3Dhub and visionLib systems offer an optimal solution platform to optimally connect massive 3D model data with mobile VR/AR devices and modern tracking methods.
Hannover Messe USA
For the first time in the 70-year history of the Hannover Messe, it ventures abroad: The Hannover Messe USA, an offshoot of the popular German trade fair, will take place in Chicago at the same time as the IMTS 2018. Around 550 exhibitors are expected to represent the typical industrial sectors of the Hannover Messe for Deutsche Messe AG. Deutsche Messe AG has been gaining a foothold in the US market since 2012 and intends to bundle its appeal with the Hannover Messe USA in September.
