CloudiFacturing - cloud-based high tech for SMEs
With our EU project, CloudiFacturing, we present how sensor analysis can sustainably support an entire process. At its core, CloudiFacturing is used to cloudify production technology for predictive digital manufacturing, thereby offering SMEs in Europe low-threshold access to high-performance computers with simulation software. The goal: to digitize manufacturing processes and strengthen the competitiveness of SMEs - since everyone should profit from Industry 4.0.

Cohort analysis - AI for your health
At Fraunhofer IGD, we have developed a software tool called VA4Radiomics that detects and visualizes characteristic correlations in patient cohorts. Visual analysis methods developed along with physicians from the ENT clinic of the University Hospital of Düsseldorf screen the complex datasets to form usable cohorts. With these cohorts, it can be shown how a patient responds compared to the whole. Let us say the algorithm takes the data from a thousand patients and forms a cohort of 50 patients with certain similarities. Using statistical approaches, the algorithm compares this patient data with the other 950: What are the differences? What levels are different? The results can be used by doctors to derive appropriate hypotheses.

Visual Security Analytics - our contribution to a secure network
With real-time visualization and analysis of IP addresses worldwide, we can detect hacker attacks early. We have been conducting this research as part of Darmstadt’s Center for Research in Security and Privacy (CRISP) together with Fraunhofer SIT, the Technical University of Darmstadt and the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences - with success: Just this fall, the research center’s public funding was extended for another two years.
