The 17th conference of the specialist group BIOSIG will take place at the Fraunhofer IGD on September 27 and 28, 2018. Like every year, international biometrics experts will meet to discuss current opportunities or problems of biometric systems. The focus this year will be on biometrics and concerns about counterfeit security and loss of privacy. More and more processes like e-banking, passport checks, and e-health seek to make more use of biometric data in the future. Since there are now considerably more processes than just the fingerprint, the conference will present individual advantages and disadvantages in the various fields of application, as well as state of the art and future requirements.
