The goal of the joint project between IFQ GmbH Wismar Gesellschaft für Informationsverarbeitung, Fertigungssteuerung und Qualitätssicherung and the Rostock location of the Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics Research IGD is to develop a communication tool with which select workers receive targeted, quick information as needed on stationary displays in their current work environment or on mobile displays. Technically, this will combine the classical functions of production management systems with new, context-related production and manufacturing content (context awareness) with the needs-based provision of relevant information as a communication channel for workers (social manufacturing functions).
The Rostock location of the Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics Research IGD develops and creates prototypes for concepts for the priority-controlled and location-independent cascading presentation of information on multimodal and multiple output devices. This requires the development of models and editors for various areas (channel, tasks and matching, etc.) with a simple location service for determining select work environment locations as well as a concept for message modification.
The project is supported by the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania within the framework of the Technology Promotion Program and with funds from the ERDF Fund.
