- Project description
As part of INWASA, a cloud-based platform is being developed that uses interactive simulations for in situ decision-making support for flooding scenarios. This initiative combines the current know-how of the two competence centers Spatial Information Management and Interactive Engineering Technologies. The platform is intended for geoservices providers. In this day and age, these small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) invest a great amount of time in developing water flow simulations since they lack automated data integration capabilities. They also lack an interactive component in defining the simulation parameters as well as faster, simulation-based decision-making support.
The development of the INWASA platform is our response to the need for geoservices SMEs to increase their efficiency when it comes to designing water flow simulations and to provide an interactive experience for their clients. These SMEs also benefit from the flexibility of combining simulation parameters at will, and visually and interactively presenting the results in order to rapidly play out alternative emergency plans. The possibility of real-time data integration means the base data is always up to date, improving the accuracy of the analysis.
