VCaaS: Visual Computing as a Service

The platform for applied visual computing

If value chains change toward the digital world, suitable IT platforms are required to facilitate these changes. Our researchers at Fraunhofer IGD are working on developments tailored to specific applications. In the future, we will also provide our customers with the basic technologies we develop via a cloud-ready platform to allow them to design numerous other solutions.

We give designers direct access to our technologies in their full range with the strategic service platform, “Visual Computing as a Service” (VCaas). The software components of Fraunhofer IGD are continuously developed on this open platform, and may also be enhanced by external components. All visual computing developments designed by us are then available inside the cloud and linked together. They are scalable and may be used interactively in real time. Our solutions – e.g. for visualizations, scanning technologies, or 3D printing – may thus be used by designers and users all over the world via suitable licensing models.
