Massive amounts of data are a challenge for virtually all industries and public authorities. While the options to collect data have become more and more efficient, the evaluation of data is greatly complicated by high data volumes and great dynamics with heterogeneous data formats.

Today’s Big Data solutions mostly address the automated processing of data without placing the human user at the center of the solution. This is precisely where Fraunhofer IGD offers a pioneering solution for Big Data: the use of massive amounts of data in a way that is tangible and can be interactively controlled by people. In this way, highly complex CAD models of vehicles and aircraft, detailed to the individual screw, can be made available in a web browser fluently and interactively.

In addition, visual analytics solutions pre-process and visualize massive sensor data or security-relevant log files on the network, always keeping in mind the goal of enabling the experts to work effectively with Big Data.
