  • Habilitation (venia legendi) at the TU Graz (AT): "Deep Structure, Singularities, and Computer Vision". I'm now also assigned to the ICG group at TUG.

    Arjan Kuijper received a MSc in 1995 from the Department of Applied Mathematics, University of Twente, the Netherlands.
    In 1996 - 1997 he was software analyst, consultant and advisor at ELTRA Parking Group, a company that sells and maintains handheld computers and related software.
    October 1997 he started his PhD studies at the Department of Computer Science and Mathematics, Utrecht University, the Netherlands, resulting in a PhD on The Deep Structure of Gaussian Scale Space Images in 2002.
    October 2001 he became researcher, and April 2002 post-doc on 3D multi-modality matching, both at the same university.
    January 2003 he became assistant research professor in The Image Group of the IT University of Copenhagen at the DSSCV project working on Symmetry Sets and pre-Symmetry Sets.
    October 2005 he was scientific consultant at the Wolfgang Pauli Institute, Vienna.
    In November 2005 he started as senior researcher at the Johann Radon Institute for Computational and Applied Mathematics (RICAM), Linz, Austria, in the group Analysis of Partial Differential Equations, working on PDE approaches for image and shape analysis.
    Since November 2008 he is reseach coach, managing scientific dissemination, at the Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics Research (IGD) in Darmstadt. In addition to that, teaching at the TU Darmstadt is done as well.
    In 2009 he obtained his venia legendi at the TU Graz (AT) with a Habilitation thesis entitled "Deep Structure, Singularities, and Computer Vision", assigning him as "Privat Dozent" to the ICG group at TUG.
