Welcome to the Department “Virtual and Augmented Reality”.

Since over 15 years our team of more than 20 researchers is developing technology in the field of “Virtual Reality” (VR) and “Augmented Reality” (AR). Thereby we are integrating our research results into the VR/AR system instantReality which is used by many industrial and academic customers. A test version of instantReality as well as documentation of the software framework is available on www.instantreality.org. Our research and development work includes the following technologies:

• High Quality Rendering
  e.g. Rendering in HTML, scaling from smartphone up  to the PC cluster

• Multimodale Interaktion
  e.g. immersive interaction, multi touch systems, haptic interaction

• Development of Virtual Reality Systems
  e.g. tiled display HEyeWall 2.0, Cave, Movable Screen

• Computer Vision based Tracking
  e.g. markerless Tracking, combination of Computer Vision and inetial sensory

• Augmented Reality on smartphones
  e.g. Tracking om mobile systems, Augmented Reality Applications  om smartphones

Our services cover implementation, creation and consultancy throughout software and hardware solutions, the integration of innovative technologies and the development of prototypes and products.
