Models are an integral part of visual computing. They offer an abstract view of selected aspects of reality. There are different visualization options. Our researchers are therefore developing different model types such as 2D, 3D or higher dimensions for practical applications.

Specifically this means:

  • Models are an abstract view of selected aspects of reality. Only a model makes the reproduction in an information-processing system possible.
  • We create high-quality models - from geometrical via stochastic all the way to semantic - for innovative applications and networked solutions.
  • We research traditional model types, such as 2D models (maps), 3D models (buildings) and 4D models (time-varying models), as well as higher-dimensional, complex models for practical use.
