The offices and labs at the Darmstadt location occupy over 8,000 square meters of floorspace. Here, more than 100 full-time staff members work on research assignments and are aided in their work by about 250 research assistants. The Rostock location can look back on almost 20 years of research work. Since its founding in January 1992, Rostock has consistently built on its already well-established expertise in Visual Computing, which covers the areas of multimedia communication, systematic handling of knowledge, mobile multimedia applications, and entertainment.
Fraunhofer Austria Visual Computing in Graz
The Fraunhofer family welcomed a new member in April 2009. The project office of Fraunhofer IGD founded at the Technical University of Graz in 2007 has now been transferred to the "Visual Computing" business unit of Fraunhofer Austria Research GmbH.
Fraunhofer IDM@NTU in Singapore
Since May 2010, the Fraunhofer Project Centre for IDM@NTU (Fraunhofer IDM@NTU) has formed the new Fraunhofer Research Center in Singapore.
